Sometimes you don't know the value of something until you've lost it. Having crossed the Atlantic yet again this week, and having experienced the debilitating effects of jet lag last night - staring at the darkened ceiling at 3am - I am learning to appreciate one of God's most uncelebrated gifts - sleep. The mild fog that I find myself in today, the absence of true perspective and the fact that faulty software on my computer has kept me laboring away at the keyboard trying to figure things out for hours (with a compelling desire to lob the computer out of the window while it's unopened) means that I certainly need my sleep. What else do I take for granted that I would only really miss it when gone?
Also, have decided to avoid watching too many news programmes. The credit crunch stuff is very very depressing. Am I trying to be ostrich like and avoid reality? Absolutely.
